Step 1: Your (Buyer's) Inquiry
A good inquiry should provide information on the product, quantity, and expected delivery time. A detail illustration of the product with pictures, samples or AutoCAD drawing, would facilitate the process. Read more ... on What Makes a Good Sourcing Inquiry
For people who want to develop a product on his/her own, marketing, financial and manufacturing feasibility are highly recommended. What Outsourcing In Asia team could help is only the manufacturing feasibility study among these three. We would be happy to assist you in that regard to find out for you how feasible to make your product in Asia/China. Call 1-877-566-5260 for an evaluation, free.
Step 2: Quotation
Based on the inquired information, the supplier could quote you in 2 weeks. A quotation covers product prices, pricing terms (FOB China, CIF or to-door), packaging, sampling time and fees, and production and delivery time.
For Outsourcing In Asia team, quotation is a process that we help you to identify and qualify suppliers, and negotiate with them on your behalf. With Outsourcing’s local Chinese presence, we guarantee you with local Chinese prices.
Step 3: Sampling
When you agree with supplier’s prices and terms, it's the time to pay sampling, tooling or molding fees to start the sampling process. For a new product, we collect development fee for clients’ commitment for extra communications, and effort that’s going to involve at the beginning. Sampling, tooling or molding fees are charged by some factories to test run clients’ products/ideas before moving into mass production.
It is necessary for client to approve samples before moving forward and make payments for mass production. Once changes are needed, counter samples would need to be sent again. Outsourcing In Asia’s QA would be brought onboard to make sure changes are made exactly to what client wants.
Sampling takes about 2-6 weeks.
Step 4, 5 and 6: Payments and Mass production
After samples being approved, buyer makes the 1st payment to start the mass production.
With us, project manager and Q.A. would be engaged to supervise quality manufacturing, safe packagingon-time delivery etc. Production and Quality Inspection Report and pictures will be sent for buyer’s review.
The rest balance is due after viewing copies of bill of lading. Mass production takes 2-6 weeks depending on factory's capacity and manufacturing process that involves.
Step 7: Freight
If you are buying variety products from China, it saves to use a warehouse to collect, and consolidate shipments to avoid repetitive Chinese and US Custom charges, document fees and unnecessary trouble. It takes normally 4-6 weeks to deliver by ocean and 2 weeks by air. However, prices of air could be 4-5 times more expensive than ocean shipping. To-door delivery can be arranged when asked.
